that was a funny application point to peter's sermon that santosh shared, based on his recent experience. but i'll leave it up to him to share it.

peter shared his first message this weekend as the newsong bangkok pastor, based on our theme this month, WHAT'S NEXT?. it's been almost 2 years since newsong bangkok began weekly public services, and we've seen many changes the whole entire time! others have already blogged about some of the exciting ministries God has opened up for newsong bkk, and it's been a privilege to be a part of some of that. but WHAT'S NEXT?

i don't know-- wait for future blogs! for sure, there will be many more changes in our meeting formats, staff, budget situation and so forth. but i'm amazed to see congregational growth in all this. God is definitely working in and through us. all kinds of social outcasts are visiting and staying. and we are still thankful for God's great love that's being poured out in our community.

this was the first weekend that i had gone to both the sat and sun verge services. usually there are different speakers for the different verges; but peter preached for both verges for the first weekend of 2008; so i heard peter's message twice, and still wasn't bored the 2nd time. that's an amazing thing! his message about Joshua and crossing the Jordan helped us to reflect on our first two years as we ready ourselves for 2008 and beyond.

i'm excited to have our faith tested, and to be bold and courageous as we step into the flooded river. may our 2008 be as exciting as the measure of our faith!
