We are a small group of families in Irvine who are "bananas for Jesus"... Why is our group called Bananas? If you look up the definition of banana in the dictionary (yes, it's really there), you'll find something like "elongated tapering tropical fruit enclosed in yellow rind." We're definitely not referring to that definition of banana. It's not like we're collecting bananas (the fruit) for Jesus... An "urban dictionary" defines bananas as an "American-Asian slang (insult) for an Asian person who is 'yellow on the outside but white on the inside'". We're not referring to that definition...

Crazy. Nuts. Bonkers. As in, "I'm going bananas for that girl!" So, are you "bananas for Jesus"?
